About AI-Sana

An innovation programme that unites education, research and startup entrepreneurship powered by artificial intelligence.

The initiative

On 11 December 2024, after the presentation of the Alem.AI Artificial Intelligence Centre concept at Astana Hub, the President of Kazakhstan instructed that the phased implementation of AI-Sana be worked out.

Programme goal

To give students of applied fields — agriculture, water management, energy and others — extra competencies in AI and AI entrepreneurship. Special attention goes to DeepTech startups as a driver of Kazakhstan’s technological and economic growth.

Stages

  1. Preparation

    AI courses on Coursera, Huawei and Astana Hub for bachelor, master and PhD students: trends, fundamentals and applications.

  2. Stage 1

    AI-based entrepreneurial skills, basic programming and machine learning.

  3. Stage 2

    Structuring student projects, scaling strategy, market orientation.

  4. Stage 3

    Pre-acceleration, acceleration and post-acceleration: MVPs, business models, investment.

Shymkent University in AI-Sana

Within the project the university trained and certified students in the effective use of AI in education and held the scientific conference “The AI-Sana programme and the role of AI in education” for 1st and 4th-year and master’s students.
